Saxophone Cover of Imagine
by john lennon

My Saxophone Cover of Imagine by John Lennon is devoted to the pursuit of peace & holding global leaders accountable for achieving this outcome in the face of conflict.

Music is a powerful tool for protest and resistance against wars and oppressive regimes. Many artists and musicians have used their talents to write and perform songs that critique war, call for peace, and demand social and political change.

Music can serve as a historical record, preserving the experiences and emotions of people during times of war and peace. Songs, lyrics, and compositions can provide insights into the social and political climate of a particular era. It is no coincidence my Saxophone Cover of Imagine is just as relevant as it is today as it was when written, during the Vietnam War.

Songs like “Give Peace a Chance” by John Lennon or “War” by Edwin Starr are examples of music that protested against war. John Lennon’s Imagine has become a permanent protest song, an emblem of hope, an anthem for global harmony. This is the very reason why this week I chose to perform my Saxophone Cover of Imagine by John Lennon, to recognise the consistent cycle of war that plagues the planet and remind those with the capacity to call for change to demand it!
